Project Overview

This project included the full reconstruction of William McCray Playground, featuring demolition and replacement of concrete and synthetic play surfaces, new sidewalks and hardscape improvements, and installation of updated playground equipment, spray fixtures, benches, and fencing.

The scope also included landscaping, grading, drainage and water supply upgrades, and full site restoration, all completed in accordance with NYC Parks standards and safety requirements.

Scope of Work

Perform demolition of existing concrete pavement and synthetic surfacing and furnish and install new concrete pavement and synthetic surfacing, including removal, legal disposal, subgrade preparation, placement, finishing, and curing in accordance with the approved plans and specifications.
Construct and restore sidewalks and complete all required stonework as indicated on the contract drawings, including base preparation, installation, alignment, and final finishing.
Perform all fence installation work as shown on the drawings, including layout, anchoring, and completion of all required components.
Furnish and install benches, playground equipment, swings, and spray shower fixtures in accordance with approved plans, manufacturer requirements, and applicable safety standards.
Perform all landscaping, planting, grading, and soil stabilization work, including tree protection, transplanting, planting installation, and restoration of disturbed areas.
Install drainage and water supply improvements, including piping, valves, RPZ assemblies, and associated site utility work as indicated in the contract documents.
Construct new hardscape improvements including concrete pavement, asphalt pavement, curbs, retaining elements, and specialty play surfaces per approved drawings.
Install site furnishings, fencing systems, pavement markings, and recreational features as shown in the plans.
Restore all existing site conditions disturbed by construction activities and remove and legally dispose of excess materials and construction debris in compliance with NYC Parks requirements and local regulations.
Complete all work in accordance with applicable codes, NYC Parks standards, safety regulations, and project specifications.
