Project Overview

The P.S. 16 Bronx project involved the removal of temporary classroom units (TCUs) and full redevelopment of the school playground and outdoor athletic areas. The project included demolition, new grading and drainage infrastructure, safety surfacing, play equipment installation, landscaping, and accessibility upgrades. All work was performed within an active NYC school facility, requiring phased construction, strict safety coordination, and detailed scheduling.

Detailed Scope of Work

Demolition and removal of temporary classroom units, existing pavements, utilities, and playground components.
Installation of new concrete pavements, asphalt play areas, safety surfacing, synthetic turf, and sports court layouts.
Construction of RPL platforms, precast concrete seating, steps, ramps, and retaining elements.
Installation of playground equipment, fencing systems, gates, and site furnishings.
Site grading, drainage improvements, catch basins, and storm piping connections.
Landscaping work including tree protection, planting, and restoration of green areas.
Coordination of civil, architectural, and MEP work to support new site infrastructure.
Final site restoration, inspections, closeout documentation, and project turnover in accordance with NYCSCA requirements.
