Project Overview

The P.S. 119 Bronx project involved the removal of temporary classroom units (TCUs) and full redevelopment of the school playground and exterior recreational areas. The work included demolition, new grading and drainage infrastructure, playground construction, safety surfacing, fencing, landscaping, and accessibility upgrades. Construction was performed within an active school environment requiring phased scheduling, strict safety coordination, and integration with existing site utilities and adjacent DPR park areas.

Detailed Scope of Work

Demolition and removal of temporary classroom units, pavements, utilities, and site elements to prepare for new construction.
Installation of new concrete pavements, asphalt play areas, safety surfacing, and sports courts including basketball areas.
Construction of playground features, seating areas, decorative fencing, gates, and site furnishings.
Site grading, drainage improvements, storm piping, channel drains, and erosion control systems.
Landscaping work including tree protection, planting areas, soil stabilization, and restoration of adjacent green space.
Coordination of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing work supporting new exterior infrastructure.
Final site restoration, inspections, closeout documentation, and project turnover in accordance with NYCSCA standards.
