Project Overview

The P.S. 163 project involved comprehensive exterior playground and site improvements focused on upgrading accessibility, drainage, and long-term durability of the schoolโ€™s outdoor spaces. Construction was performed within an active school environment, requiring strict safety coordination, phased work zones, and detailed trade management to minimize disruption to daily operations.

Project Scope

  • Provided all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, permits, inspections, and coordination required for the project in accordance with NYC SCA standards, approved drawings, and applicable codes.
  • Performed site preparation including layout, protection of existing conditions, demolition, excavation, grading, erosion control, and debris removal.
  • Furnished and installed concrete pavement, ADA-compliant ramps, colored concrete, and exterior flatwork improvements.
  • Furnished and installed exterior benches, fencing systems, gates, foundations, and related hardware throughout the site.
  • Performed landscaping work including soil preparation, planting, sod installation, irrigation (as required), and maintenance until acceptance.
  • Furnished and installed HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems including equipment, piping, ductwork, wiring, controls, testing, and commissioning.
  • Maintained site safety, coordinated all trades, protected existing facilities, supported school operations, completed inspections, provided closeout documentation and warranties, and achieved final acceptance.
