Project Overview

Our team completed the construction of a new public labyrinth plaza and seating area along the Rockaway Beach Boardwalk, transforming the waterfront space with upgraded hardscape, landscaping, and public amenities.

Architect/Designer: NYC Parks Landscape Architecture Division

Scope of Work

  • Demolition and replacement of existing concrete pavement with new concrete surfaces, including full subgrade preparation and finishing.
  • Site grading, sidewalk reconstruction, and restoration work to improve drainage and accessibility.
  • Installation of stonework, specialty paving, and fencing elements throughout the plaza.
  • Construction of a custom labyrinth feature with integrated granite seating and curved plaza walls.
  • Furnishing and installation of benches, site furnishings, and pavement markings.
  • Landscaping improvements including soil preparation, planting, and restoration of disturbed areas.
  • Drainage adjustments and site improvements to support long-term performance along the shoreline.
  • Final site restoration, debris removal, and project completion in compliance with NYC Parks standards.
