Project Overview

The R025 SPED Staten Island project involved removal of temporary classroom units (TCUs) and full playground and athletic area upgrades at P.S. 25R. The scope included demolition, grading, stormwater drainage improvements, sports court reconstruction, fencing systems, and accessibility upgrades. Work was completed within an active school environment requiring strict safety coordination and phased construction.

Detailed Scope of Work

Demolition and removal of existing temporary classroom units, fencing, pavements, and site elements.
Installation of new concrete pavements, asphalt play areas, and athletic surfaces including basketball courts and running track improvements.
Site grading and drainage upgrades including trench drains, storm piping, and cesspool frame replacements.
Construction of new chain-link fencing systems, gates, and hardware assemblies surrounding play areas.
Landscaping and erosion control including soil stabilization, tree protection, and permanent seeding.
Installation of sports equipment including basketball posts, backstops, and court striping layouts.
Coordination of mechanical, electrical, and site utility improvements supporting new exterior infrastructure.
Final site restoration, inspections, closeout documentation, and project turnover in accordance with NYCSCA standards.
